New Home Elementary School

Hello, my name is Britt Gordon and I am honored to serve as Principal for New Home Elementary School. I have served as a Texas public school administrator for 23 years at the elementary, middle and high school levels. After an unsuccessful attempt at retirement, I am truly looking forward to serving the students, families, and staff of New Home ISD.

My wife, Kelly, and I have been happily married for 34 years. We are proud parents to our two daughters, Kinsey and Kate, and are blessed with two wonderful sons-in-law, Trysten and Bryce. Our family also includes our dog, Annie, and our newest joy—our 2-year-old grandson, Lincoln.  When we’re not busy with school events, UIL competitions, or church activities, Kelly and I love to travel and explore. You’ll usually find us hiking through a national park or chasing after Lincoln on his latest adventure!

New Home has an outstanding reputation for excellence in so many areas and we are both proud to be a part of the Leopard family! Looking ahead I believe New Home has the potential to do even greater things than ever before and we are looking forward to being a part of such a bright future!

Hello! My name is Kaylie Hix, and I am thrilled to serve as the Assistant Principal at New Home Elementary. I bring more than 12 years of experience in education, having taught middle school math and science and high school science in school districts ranging from 1A to 4A. I also served as an Academic Dean, where I developed a passion for supporting student success, fostering teacher growth, and building strong school communities.

My husband and I are proud parents of four amazing children. Two are currently in college, and our two younger children will soon be joining the Leopard family. As a family, we enjoy spending time outdoors fishing and camping, and you'll often find us playing anything Mario-related!

I was drawn to New Home ISD because of its strong sense of community and unwavering commitment to student success, and I am honored to be part of the Leopard family. I look forward to partnering with our students, families, and staff to make this a fantastic year of learning, growth, and success.
