Girls Basketball

Coach Monreal begins her first year as the head girls basketball coach at New Home and enters her 10th year of coaching. A Canyon High School graduate, she played for Coach Joe Lombard before continuing her playing career at Wayland Baptist University. She spent the last two seasons coaching at West Texas A&M and is excited to bring her experience and passion for the game to the New Home Lady Leopards program.

In addition to coaching basketball, Coach Monreal will teach Leadership and assist with the track program. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and her dog Stevi. 

Coach Demel is beginning her first year at New Home ISD and her 13th year in education. A graduate of Texas Tech University, she previously taught and coached at Denver City ISD and Liberty High School, where she coached cross country, volleyball, basketball, track, and softball.

At New Home, Coach Demel will teach Chemistry while serving as the assistant volleyball and basketball coach. She and her two children, Haydyn, a freshman, and Kace, a sixth grader, are excited to be part of the Leopard family and look forward to a great year.

Coach Ratheal is entering his 7th year of educating and coaching, and is excited to begin his first year at New Home ISD. A proud graduate of Texas Tech university  and a United States Marine Corps Veteran, he credits his time in the Marines with instilling the values of discipline, integrity, accountability, and resilience that continue to guide him as a teacher and coach.

Outside of school, Coach Ratheal enjoys spending time with his two dogs, Buddy, a yellow Labrador Retriever, and Odin, an Old English Bulldog.Coach Ratheal believes that coaching and teaching are about building strong relationships, developing character, and helping students become the best version of themselves both on and off the field. He is honored to join the Leopard family and is excited for the opportunity to make a positive impact.
